Located on the North East Coastline of Taiwan, the township of Jinshan harbors the Mystery Coast. Here the ocean formed coastline offers caves, unique formations, and a secret beach. The Secret Beach looks directly out to Candlestick Rocks, and is the perfect viewing point to watch the sunrise blanket the sand at your feet.
Picked up from your location in Taipei for an hour drive to the north east coast of Taiwan, and the township of Jinshan. We make our way to Jinshan Harbor and take a small hike to the Mystery Cove. Often overlooked, the Mystery Cove offers gorgeous seaside views while clambering over beautifully sculpted and colored rocks.
We make a short climb up the mountain and we can see our camping location on the Secret Beach. Before setting up camp on the beach we will cruise through the Old Street, taking in the flurry of smells, colors and the surreal experience of people walking through town with plates of duck!
It’s a short, although steep, hike down to the beach where we will set up camp and enjoy the ocean! The days will consist of sunbathing, snorkeling and swimming, while looking out at the famous Twin Candlesticks.
At night we sleep under the stars, with the squid boats in the distance lighting up the horizon, making a beautiful silhouette of Twin Candlesticks.
Wake up with the sun rising over the horizon in front of us, lighting up the rocks and sand at our tent’s door. We will eat breakfast and go for a morning snorkel before packing up camp and heading home in the early afternoon.
